A Study on the Natural Family Planning Practice of Women for a part of Urban Area

Abstract
In order to study Lactors influencing the continuous Practice of Natural Family Planning (NFP) Were examined. This study was carried out from January 1983 to December in Fatima Hospital, Taegu. The Subject of investigation was case-control study of 60 fertile Women dropout after 2 months Practice and 120 fertile coomen over 6 month practice Individual characteristics such as education, religion, occupation, age, parity and experience of abortion etc. were. measured. Couple characteristics such as coopevation, hasban¡¯s concern about wife¡¯s health ad difference in religion of couples etc. were measured. The results were as follows ; 1. Where husband and wife were both catholic expected dropout rate 46% and obsered dropout rate was 29%. This was statistically Significant (P<0.05) 2. In the individual characteristics the dropout rate of the non-Catholic fretile women was 2.29 times higher than the Catholic fretile women (P<0.05), Also after 2 children the dropout rate increased by 0.42% (P<0.05).. 3. In the couple factors, where non-cooperation from husband dropout rate was 19.02 times higher than where cooperation was noted (P<0.01) Where husband¡¯s concern about wife¡¯s health just usual the dropout rate was 4.78 time (P<0.01). and low concern was 4.54 higher than where the husband had high concern about his wife (P<0.05).
